BSA Engineering in Island

BSA Engineering successfully executes OSM job in a hydropower plant in Iceland.

A global player in the market for hydroelectric power generation entrusted BSA Engineering GmbH with a demanding project for a hydroelectric power plant in Iceland. The on-site machining of a turbine housing was part of a performance optimization. The in-house developed mobile lathe X50 * was used for this operation assuring highest precision for machining the various diameters and surfaces. Again, using the Laser Tracker for alignment was a big advantage for saving time and maximizing precision while adjusting the mobile lathe, performing the machining job and generating on-the-spot reports.

* The mobile lathe “X50” is another in-house developed special machine for which years of hands-on experience in on-site machining services as well as innovative engineering has been the basis. The X50 mobile lathe allows reliable and precise turning operations of diameters in the range of 1500 mm up to 6000 mm. Surfaces, diameters and bevels can be machined at any angle by linear feed. The accuracy of machined surfaces is less than 0.03 mm radial and less than 0.05 mm axial for a diameter of 3000 mm.
We are looking forward to receiving your feedback or requests.
